Self Driving Vehicles
I am an enthusiast of self-driving vehicles and passionate about the technologies on the road. I am involved with a college team where we design a level-4 autonomous vehicle for the AutoDrive challenge by SAE. I work on the path planning sub-team where I am responsible for designing the finite state machine(FSM) for the local planner. I implement the FSM and test it in simulation.
Apart from working on an autonomous vehicle, I engage with other enthusiasts on virtual chats. We read conference papers in this field, chat about technologies, hardware, software used, and the future of self-driving vehicles.

International Student Support Team
As an international undergraduate student, my transition to the US and college was challenging. One of my support systems consisted of mentors and the living-learning community(LLC) for Women in Engineering. In my sophomore year, I co-founded the International Student Support Team with a graduate student. We aim to aid international students in the LLC in their transition. Currently, we serve international students in the College of Engineering. From a 2-member duo we have grown to a 11 member team. We provide targeted support to international students by collaborating with academic advisers, faculty, and staff. In one year, we were able to increase double the number of international students in our LLC. Before the pandemic, I organized an outreach event where we wrote 150 prospective female engineering international student postcards. In the future, we have plans to write a conference paper regarding experiences of international student transition to the US.

Chess
I started playing chess in elementary school as a hobby. In middle school, I played my first four-day inter-branch tournament at my school. Soon after, I made it to my school team in grade 6. I loved playing chess even during my free time. It intriguing every time I foresee a move, think a few steps ahead, orchestrate a plan, and unveil it. I continued playing for my school team for seven years . During my senior year, I had the opportunity to play for the Chess National Championship in Varanasi, India. I played against rated opponents where each game was four hours long. It was a unique experience all together. In college, I do not play competitive chess, but I engage in online games. I enjoyed watching the Queen's Gambit and would love to read the book someday.
